Pioneertown in the Mojave Desert near Joshua Tree National Park, is one my favorite place to go in the Mojave Desert. The rustic frontier town was built as stage sets for hundreds of films and tv shows that are an integral part of the American folklore of the old west. This town is the most crowded ghost town you will ever encounter and is set in the incredible Pioneertown valley to the West of Joshua Tree.
