40 Million Californians are now under a stay at home order. The new world we woke up to this morning is eerily quiet and unfamiliar. Panic is gripping the nation. If you are like me you are experiencing an unprecedented level of anxiety. The most ordinary things are now dangerous, going to the grocery store, going to the gym, hugging a dear friend.
How can we cope with such an extraordinary disruption to our normal way of life? Today’s video is about coping mechanisms for this turbulent and frightening time. Whether you are alone or you have a family at home with you, you need to learn to manage your anxiety and move forward in order to be the pillar of strength both you and those around you need.
Self Care is a must during this unprecedented disruption to our normal life. We need to soothe ourselves, and focus on our own realm of control. Nothing like this has ever created so much anxiety, panic, and hysteria. However, the more stress that our body is experiencing, the weaker our immune system, and therefore our ability to fight the Coronavirus gets. So it’s an imperative that we take this time to learn how to manage our anxiety levels.
Meditation is the ultimate tool to break through that wall of anxiety and fear. Today’s video features coping strategies for getting through this terrifying ordeal and somehow moving forward through it all. We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know that by staying at home and staying calm we are doing our part to end this pandemic, and be the pillar of strength those in our lives need.
This is not the time to curl up in a ball of tears while glued to the news and the Internet; this is the time to make your greatest contribution. Learn what that is and how to do it in today’s video.
I hope wherever you are, you are safe and have everything you need when you read this. – William Z. Brennan
