2019 was another year of devastating wildfires around the world, California was no exception. This year the difference was that the fires were closer and closer to what we think of as, "in-town" or near the city and sprawl of Los Angeles. The fires in Malibu, Bel Air, and the Hollywood Hills have been terrifying and unnerving. They have also changed the landscape, coating the otherwise incredible mountain views that surround the city and suburbs.
I recently went to the Venice Beach strand for the first time. It was incredible chaotic and overwhelming. The ten minutes it took for me to film this video was plenty of time for me, but it was fun to catch the scene of people so excited to be somewhere that was truly iconic to them.
