The California Desert is a haven for equestrians during the winter seasons and the HITS Horse Show in Thermal, California is one of the major ongoing equestrian events. Situated adjacent to the Thermal Airport, a convenient runway for private air travel, the HITS Horse Show is found after a drive through the beautiful date plantations and farm fields of the eastern Coachella Valley. The facilities and the event are huge in terms of both the sheer size and the number of participants. The sprawling grounds are planted with California fan palms, and the backdrop of the mountain ranges surrounding the valley make a beautiful backdrop to watch the competitions and appreciate the majestic beauty of the horses.
