Witch Hazel hydrosol water is a gentle, natural solvent that removes stubborn product residue, or a built-up layer of oil without stripping the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Rather than applying this Witch Hazel after cleansing to treat acne as many of us did as teenagers, before cleansing, gently wipe the face in an upward motion with a cotton pad soaked in Witch Hazel and layers of build-up on the skin will dissolve and be wiped away by the pad. This Witch Hazel has a 15% benzoic acid preservative, which makes it more shelf stable at room temperature after it has been opened.

Traditional Witch Hazel toners have a harsh denatured alcohol base and strip the skin of its entire moisture barrier, causing the oil glands to overproduce, resulting in acne, and clogged pores. This gentle, natural Witch Hazel removes what you do not wish to remain on your face while preserving your skin’s own moisture barrier.

Directions: Apply to face before cleansing with a cotton pad in a gentle, upward motion, carefully avoiding the eyes. Do not use to remove eye makeup.

Why I offer this product: I couldn’t remove the sunscreen from my face even with cleanser and water, and this gentle, natural solvent removes the build-up of product, sweat, and oil in seconds without stripping the skin’s moisture barrier.

Storage: Keep refrigerated for longest shelf life. This product is shelf stable for 2-3 weeks at room temperature after opening, but decanting to a smaller bottle for the bathroom and keeping the larger portion in the refrigerator will ensure that you are using the freshest product at all times. Not for internal use.
