Desert Roots is my newest 100% natural botanically derived apothecary fragrance; it’s a portrait in scent of my life in the California desert. Inspired by a classic 1920s-30s era oriental perfume, a glorious return to the heyday of perfumery before artificial fragrances were introduced and it’s my most complex and emotionally compelling fragrance yet. After several years of testing and formulation, I am now using a new stabilizing and dilution system that creates a much better aroma experience.

Desert Roots, and all of my products are 100% natural, real, botanically derived essential oils and absolutes, no denatured alcohol, no preservatives, and no artificial fragrances. It’s available in (2.7 oz) small enough for an airplane carry-on, (8 oz), and (16 oz) for a sizable refill at a great value.

My Inspiration:

I have created this new fragrance, inspired by the time of my life when I moved to the California desert, and had an entire new lifetime of new sensory experiences. The fragrance of the orange blossoms just after dusk when they release their perfumes, the jasmine flowers releasing their fragrance into the morning dew, the earthy, spicy, woody aroma that rises from the twisted and gnarled desert trees on a hot day, the wonderful amber notes that waft up from the rocks when they are heated by the sun, And the incense fragrance of a cozy outdoor wood fire on a surprisingly chilly desert evening, the aromas of Tamarisk, mesquite, and Manzanita are so different to the woods we used to burn on the East Coast.
